There is an app for everything and motorists are taking advantage of many fuel price apps that are currently available.
7-Eleven launched its Fuel App in March 2016 and claims to have saved motorists more than $1 million on fuel purchases.
The 7-Eleven Fuel App allows you to search your five nearest stores to find the lowest price on fuel.
How it works
If you see a good petrol price you can ‘lock it in’ and redeem petrol for that amount at any 7-Eleven store in Australia within seven days. The innovative concept means you can redeem the best local deal on petrol prices regardless of which 7-Eleven fuel store they fill up at.
Beating the petrol price cycle
With Melbourne’s petrol price cycle currently lasting more than a month, and petrol prices quickly spiking by around 20-30c at the end of the cycle, this app means you’ll really never miss the lowest price of the cycle.
Over the past year, nearly 300,000 fuel price locks have been redeemed through the 7-Eleven Fuel App. Customers have saved more than $1 million on fuel purchases, or an average of 10.5 cents per litre.
